H-80 Heavy Duty, High Efficiency Gas Turbine is now the H-100
The Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) H-80 100MW class, heavy duty, high efficiency gas turbine is renamed as the “H-100”. The gas turbine design is unchanged. This name change is implemented to more accurately reflect the rated capacity class of this state-of-the-art gas turbine model. The H-100, with its efficient, two-shaft design, is the optimum solution for simple cycle, combined cycle, cogeneration, or mechanical drive applications and illustrates MHPS’s proven track record of producing gas turbines with superior quality, performance and reliability. The H-100 is offered in a packaged design which enables quick and simple site construction and flexible layout with a small foot print.
The H series consist of the H-25 in the range of 28MW to 42MW, the H-100 and the soon to be released H-50. The H-50 is a 50 MW turbine in operation at a pilot site since 2012, with expected introduction at a demonstration plant in 2016. To date there are 199 Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems H-Series gas turbines in operation or under contract with over 5 million hours of reliable operation. One of the design features of the H series is to serve as a “drop in” replacement for older vintage, less efficient, heavy frame gas turbines. The retrofit will enable a step change in efficiency increase, lower life cycle cost and reduced environmental footprint.
